UEFA Champions League Season 2019/20

Virgil van Dijk became the first defender to be crowned the UEFA men’s player, season 2018/19. Dijk is a Dutchman who is currently playing for Liverpool FC in England. He had an outstanding performance last season in both UEFA Champions League and English Premier League competitions.

Dijk is one of the best defenders the world has ever seen. Dribbling past him is the worst nightmare for most professional strikers. The other big names that featured in the competion were Argentina’s forward, Lionel Messi and Christiano Ronaldo from Portugal. Ronaldo was not lucky to grab the best forward. He sent a touching message to Messi, wishing to have dinner with his competitor in the future.

Messi won an award for the best striker in UCL season 2018/19.  The midfielder of the season landed on Frenkie de Jong, a Dutch professional footballer. Liverpool FC must be the luckiest team. They managed to scoop two awards.  Alisson Becker from Liverpool grabbed the goalkeeper of the season title.

UEFA also announced the official 2019/20 Champions League Draw, hash-tagged #UCLdraw. Group F features Barcelona FC, Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan, and Slavia Braga. It is possibly one of the toughest groups that triggered reactions worldwide. Football is a mind game. Best wishes to all the teams that qualified for UCL 2019/20. Seemingly, it will be one of the best seasons in the history of UCL!
